Visual Integration of Technology, Art, and Language
(V.I.T.A.L.) - improve student literacy by
investigating the relationship of the arts to listening, speaking,
reading, and writing (in partnership with the George
Eastman House, Schools
#42 in the Rochester City School District and Leary Elementary in
Rush-Henrietta Central School District).
The Intercultural Arts Project - to promote
racial/ethnic harmony among students of different backgrounds through the
arts and integrate the arts with language arts, social studies, and math (in
partnership with the Eastman House, the Memorial Art Gallery, and the
Rochester Museum and Science Center).
The Shared Arts Collaborative - to bring
students together from three different school districts to explore our
personal and cultural identities through the arts (in partnership with the
Arts and Cultural Council).
Culture and the Environment - to explore at the
high school level our relationship to our physical, emotional, and cultural
environments through diverse forms of literary expression (in partnership
with Writers and Books).
The Music Collaborative - to integrate
orchestral music with the instructional program for elementary students (in
partnership with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra).
The RPO Primary Ensemble Project - to introduce
third graders throughout the City School District to instrumental music and
to the musicians who play the music (sponsored by the Rochester Philharmonic
Orchestra in collaboration with Project U.N.I.Q.U.E. and the Rochester City
School District).
Greta Garbage Environmental Residencies - to
address issues such as recycling, use of natural resources, littering, and
graffiti through drama (in partnership with the City of Rochester).
Integrated Museum Programs of Inservice,
Residencies, and Field Trips - to explore various subject areas, such as
social studies, English, science, math, and technology through exhibitions
presented by our local museums.
Individual School Programs - to custom-design
programs built around arts concepts, curricular themes, student behaviors
and skills, and specific arts disciplines, at the request and in
coordination with individual school committees.
Block-Bookings - to share the talents of special
guest artists with several schools during a given week, period of months, or
throughout the year.
Professional Development Workshops and Courses - to introduce educators to the performing, visual, and literary arts and to
explore the relationship of the arts to various areas of the curriculum.
